I am seeking a Calvert male of the descent of John Calvert of Ohio, b 1766 who married Hetty Esther Jones. This family has several key adjacent families who would benefit from this test as well, including my own(for two reasons).
One of the frequent participants on this Message board is Darrell Elliott who descends from John via one of the daughters. I do as well... but neither Darrell or myself have any direct linkage to male Calvert descendents of this family line.
My Descent is John's Daughter Jane...Jane was born 1791 and married Benjamin Taylor.
Their son Joseph married Martha Ellen Owens who had son Owens Taylor who married Margaret Ann Montgomery. Owens was born over in Belmont county OH but moved to Wetzel County WV. His son Friend Taylor b 1880 married Sarah "Sadie" Taylor who was the sister of my Great Grandmother, Martha Lemasters.
Martha Lemasters married John Ewing Calvert b1856, and they were parents of my Grandfather, Arthur Clay Calvert.
This line of Calverts extends to John Calverts Contemporary, Isaac Calvert, b 1747 circa. This is my direct Calvert ancestor, my mother being a Calvert.
So you see, I have two reasons that obtaining DNA for John Calvert of 1766 from a descendent.
Darrell Elliott has a similar circumstance, not being a Calvert but:
Darrell's ancestor married the daughter of John Calvert and Esther Jones: Sarah Calvert married George Elliott in Belmont County OH.
Both Darrell and I believe that Isaac Calvert and John Calvert are either brothers or cousins, and that John Calvert migrated from Mifflin County, perhaps made a stop in Greene County PA or Monongalia County VA(or Tyler) before moving on to Belmont County OH.
We sure could use an assist for a DNA sample in this family line.
