1. I want to thank all Calvert descendants(whichever line) who have contributed their DNA or financially or both; and similarly to all who have worked on the research for others.
2. I am agonizing over the slow process of gaining participants who can help shed some light on the various family lines, Mine, Those of the Irish Calverts, Those of Scotland, those of other lines related to the Lords Calverts or those whom we just cannot get beyond an elementary brick wall.
We have a chance to demonstrate facts with DNA. We are not recruiting enough. We do not have participants from so many family lines.
It is almost as if some Calverts do not really wish to discover that DNA will show them unrelated to the Lords Baltimore. Or something. I have spent a year of hard work at this, asking little in return.
I ask of you again: Help gain participants. It is the only way to show the path of further research for many, to prove or disprove connection, etc.
I cannot do this all on my own. I need each of you to work with me onthis.
It is possible to show family ties of the Irish Quaker Line of Calverts who descend from John Calvert arrived Ireland about 1620 to my line, the Scot line or the English line or another altogether. Without a participant, we cannot.
Another example is Wiliam Calvert who married Elizabeth Nodding, origin speculated and unknown. Without DNA we cannot ascertain to which American brand of Calverts he is related to.
Calverts of Frederick County: Missing. Enoch Calverts line: Missing. John Calvert 1777, missing. John Calvert 1766, missing. John Calvert 1692 undemonstrated(requires more than 1 line. Harrison and ALias Harris Calverts. Missing except for two Harris Samples. William Calvert NC to GA. Missing. William Calvert SC to GA. to the west. Missing. James Logan Colbert. Missing. George of Deephole Farm--more samples needed. a lot of confusion remains. John Calvert of SC(who came from PW), son of George Deephole or John 1692. Alexander or William Calvert of Somerset. Missing. Richard son of William and Elizabeth Stone. Missing. Job Calvert(if any). The Dewel Lott Calvert Kin, "Kin".
ALL of the so described Scot/Welsch Presbyterian Calverts.
I could go on ad infinitum if I sat and thought about it. You will note that some of this will help my own line but much the Lords Calvert or Calverts unrelated to my line of Calverts.
It is possible for me to help and coordinate. It is beyond me to accomplish this upon my own effort alone. All of us need to work on this and gain other participants.
I ask you again to redouble any effort(Or mount an effort) to gain one particpant from known Calverts, etc so that DNA can be used to help ascertain from which ancsestral origin the varied Calvert families descend.
Sitting on laurels is not getting it done. Expecting someone else to do it, is not getting it done.
