My 4g-grandfather, Spencer Calvert b. 1754, d. 1839, m. Nancy Leatherwood, b. 1764, d. 1822.Spencer was a Rev. War vet that according to my grandmother, Virginia Calvert, rode with Francis Marion ("Swamp Fox") in South Carolina during the war.I have his saber. From Virginia's notes, Spencer was the son of William Calvert b. 1736 in Virginia, d. 1812 in Kentucky, m. Hannah. Both Spencer and William appear to have moved to Kentucky (Caldwell County area)from S. Carolina sometime after the war.I have little confirmation of anything before William, but my line from Spencer is through son Willis L. Calvert b. 1787, son Wylie Elton Calvert b. 1812, son Nathaniel Burton b. 1847, and daughter Virginia, b. 1889.Does this help?
