Joseph Camblin, Van Buren, IN--attn: Claudia Stevens

By Jo Ellen Hulce October 24, 2004 at 09:16:58

My grandmother Ethel Dillman Stevens was the daughter of Levi Dillman (1847-1930) and Martha Camblin (1855-1908) of Van Buren, Grant Co., IN.Martha was the daughter of Milton (or Arthur?) Camblin (abt 1829-bef. 1908) of PA and Jane Unknown (abt. 1833-aft. 1908) of OH.They had a total of six children, T. B., Jasper(1861), Alva (05/1868-1947), Maggie (abt. 1865), and Nellie (abt. 1873) Camblin, besides my grandmother.

I have the obituaries of Martha and Alva Camblin. However, there is some confusion in the papers.Alva was supposed to be my grandmother's uncle, that's why we have the obituary.Martha's says her father's name was Milton and Alva's says Arthur so I'm not sure which or if both are part of his name. The wives and children's names are all correct and people that were known to my grandmother and my mother.I would gladly share what I know of the Dillmans, I don't have anything yet on the Camblins.
