Richard, below is a chart for Robert Cammack and Elizabeth Chew, parents of Charles William Cammack generated by my Family Tree Maker file.Source numbers should be in superscript, but GenForum doesn't do superscript, so the source numbers appear attached to the name or item to which they refer.Sources are listed following the chart. Please note that some of this information in not from primary sources, so should be double checked.
You will note that your line goes back to Mary Cammack and her illegitimate son, William Cammack. He's the one who died in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, in 1783.
Mary was the daughter of Warwick Cammack and his wife, Margaret (MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN NO MATTER WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN), the widow of Sylvester Thatcher, Sr. when she married Warwick Cammack. After William's birth, Mary Cammack married Francis Stern, (Sr.) and had two sons by him, Francis Stern (Jr.) and David Stern. After the death of Francis Stern, Sr., Mary (Cammack) Stern married Isaac Trocq/Truck, by whom she had no children. Both Isaac and Mary died in Caroline County, Virginia.
