I wish I had more information on this family. You and the others have been studying it longer than I have, so you have more information on George's offspring than I do. Carolyn, I would like to know what you have found so far on your James, brother of my George Campbell. It appears that James had a son Isaac who acquired the 1752 house built by Samuel McClure that I visited while I was in Lexington last summer. See my posting at the McClure forum at Genforum for the location. It would seem that there should be an original deed that would have information about the inheritance of this house from James. James bought the house from Samuel McClure but it is not clear to me that the house was on McClure property originally. When I look at the original map, the city of Lexington looks like it was on Gilbert Campbell's property. Isaac apparently owned property on Main Street as well; the original house has been torn down. Has anyone tried to get copies of the deeds?
