Images of theses marriages can be found on Rootsweb, Rockbridge Co Va
I have no proof but am inclined to believe the wife of this George, son of Gilbert (d1750) was an Agness.
If you will please note most of the above children's names follow those of George's siblings.Again, I ask the question, who is this George Campbell named guardian of Lettice??Does anyone have proof of Gilbert's (d1750) parents?Where is the proof of Prudence's last name being Osran, Ozran or Puran?
In my visit to the Rockbridge Co Historical Society last year I learned that the town of Lexington is on Gilbert's plantation of 389 acres.Washington and Lee Univ. sits on top of the hill where Gilbert's home was located.Gilbert's ferry was where the waterfall is crossing the now Maury River (renamed from North River)Has anyone found the marriage for Gilbert and Prudence???I found in a book at their public library that Gilbert was quite active in the Presy. Church.Does anyone know where in Rockbridge he is buried? My guess is in his church cemetery or on his plantation.Hope some cousin out there can answer a few of the above questions we all have!Glendatrogdon@iland.net
