Mrs. Cynthia Cantonwine Is Called: Died Saturday Evening After a Long Illness--Was Nearly Eighty-Two Years Old
Mrs. Cynthia Cantonwine died at her home on west Second street Saturday evening at 7 o'clock, after a lingering illness, at the age of nearly eighty-two years. The deceased had been ill many months with ailments peculiar to old age and the end was not unexpected.Cynthia E. Irish was born in Erie county, New York.The family removed to Illinois when she was about eight years of age and came to Iowa when she was thirteen, locating in Cedar county.From there they went to Waterloo, where the deceased was married and where she resided until coming to Webster City twenty-two years ago, since which time the family have lived in this city.Six sons and two daughters are left to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent mother.The sons are Walter, David, Austin, Frank, Bert and Lewis, and the daughters are Mrs. Emma Marks of Scranton, Iowa, and Mrs. Josephene [Josephine] Williams of Trenton, Nebraska.The funeral will be held from the home on west Second street tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. C. V. Pence, of the Christian church in charge.
