Cappers and Spalding

Seeking antecedents of Harold Heubert CAPPER and John Brainerd CAPPER both of whom married Emily Sophia Spalding.The first husband married Emily in 1874 and the second in 1884.
We know the descendants but need to find the origins of John Brainerd Capper who worked on the London Times. We also are trying to find out where the Brainerd came from.
