KERBAUGH/CARBAUGH/KIRBACH/etc. DNA
Hello...
Has anyone thought about starting a Kerbaugh/Carbaugh/Kirbach/etc. surname project with Family Tree DNA? It sure would help all of us get lines straight! Is anyone interested? My husband John KERBAUGH has matched a CARBAUGH thru Y-DNA with only 1-2 differences. According to Ancestry DNA, there is a common ancestor 1-6 generations back...more likely the 6th, but they and we are working on sorting all the lines (via the umpteen thousand names and info we've taken from the internet...ha!)and obviously many of you are doing the same thing.
John and I are 99% sure that his line is from Georg Wilhelm KIRBACH who came with his family and brother Christian from Germany to Philadelphia in 1740. We have found great info in Hank Z. Jones' book "Westerwald to America"...GREAT INFORMATION!!!! John's line eventually went to Tennessee.
We hope that eventually we(meaning ALL of us) will figure this out... :)
Have a lovely Easter!
Sincerely,
Sherrill and John KERBAUGH
