Carlins with congenital deafness

By Mary McLoughlin December 14, 2002 at 04:29:58

Hello Bob,

I too am tracing Carolan ancestors from Co. Meath,Ireland. My great grandparents Michael Carolan & Martha Gaynor both born in Co. Meath had 10 children all born at Dollysgrove, Dunboyne, Co. Meath between 1875 and 1896.Four of the Carolan sons emigrated to the US - Christopher initially to Denver c. 1900 and then settled in Pittsburgh. Joseph c. 1900 to Pittsburgh, Frank in 1922 to Wheeling WV. Matthew Carolan emmigrated as far as I know to Pittsburgh in 1905 at the age of 22.The first three I know about but Matthew Carolan is a big mystery and I would dearly love to trace him.He married at some stage in the US and had at least 2 children - John & Marie.Does the above mean anything to you at all????
Regards, Mary in Dublin, Ireland.
