James Carlisle, Private, Acting Marine, Enlisted May 8, 1812 in Vermont.Mustered out Sept 11, 1814, Killed in action.Wife listed as Nancy Carlisle.
From accounts of the Battle of Plattsburg, killed & wounded on board the US Squadron on Lake Champlain, in the engagement with the British Fleet on Sept 11, 1814.
Henry Carlisle, Private, enlisted Sept 1, 1812, Henderson KY.Mustered out Dec 2, 1812, Died during service of "“exposure"”at Vincinnes, Indiana.
“Participated in the march to and relief of Captain Taylor’s Company, 7th US Infantry at Fort William Henry Harrison, Indiana Territory.This fort named for William Henry Harrison.
NOTE:My 3rd gr,grandfather (name unknown) named his 1st son William Henry Harrison.This makes me wonder if this Henry Carlisle is my line.The children of my 3rd gr,grandfather were apprenticed out as orphans in 1814.
Littleberry Carlisle, Private age 21 or 22, Martin Co, NC, enlisted Aug 17, 1814 at Halifax, NC.Mustered out Oct 30, 1814, died during service, circumstances not listed.
