Re: Jeremiah CARLOCK (1774 - 1874) of New Jersey
You listed the following person as a son of Jeremiah Carlock:
"1. Abraham CARLOCK, b. Dec. 3, 1798, NJ; m. Rachel; d. Dec. 17, 1865, New York City, NY. Rachel d. New York City, NY. Children: Abraham, William Henry, Laurena, Charles Francis. (Further information about descendants in book.)"
Something is not quite right.I believe the Carlock
book is in error.
I have found two Abraham Carlocks who were married to Rachels. One was burried with his wife in New Jersey and the other was, I believe, my ancester, Abraham Carlock who died in New York City in 12-17-1865.He too was married to a Rachel (?) but his children were :Robert N., William, George, Andrew, Abram, and I believe my great great grandmother Mary Jane Carlock who married John A. Demarest. There may have been others.
My Abrahamwas an Iron Molder and although born in New Jersey (possibly Fort Lee) he lived in New York City.
His son Robert N. was also an Iron Molder and may have been
a fireman too. Another son Abram was married to Ana Maria Retan.
Do you have any information about my Abraham Carlock or
