After reading these responses it seems pretty obvious to me that Cole Carloss is not the same person as Robert Cole Don Carlos, having only the name Cole in common.It does look like someone stole the Battle of Cowpens from Cole Carloss and attributed it to Robert Cole Carlos or Don Carlos.This other spelling of Carlos as Carloss or even Carless has cropped up before.Two different people or radically different facts.Robert Cole Don Carloss m Elizabeth Badgett for one thing and was too young for the Revolution.Perhaps he played at it in the back yard when he heard the guns in the distance.
