I can find a David Carman b. 1836 resident in Kenninghall what I think was a workhouse. He appears to have a brother Edward b. 1832.

The only other David Carman I can find was b. 1836 at Hethersett. But he was in the 1861 and 1871 census so he didn't emigrate to NZ.

All my Carman family were from Norfolk so I'll keep a look out for your David as I search.
