Edward Charles Carr

I am still looking for details of Edward Charles Carr's service in the Merchant Navy.Charles was b. 1901 Rotherhithe, London. He was placed in a home by his parents, but ran away and lied about his age to join the Merchant Navy, he served through WW1 and settled in America until his return to serve (again in the M.N) for the duration of the WW11. I believe he served as a Steward.I have been unable to find any trace of him online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have all the details of his private life up to his death 1n 1999.
