You are looking for information about my grandmother.
Her name is Catherine McDermott married Milton H. Carrier had sisters: Eileen(died from breast cancer, never married),Mabel(married William P. Scanlon),Margarite(became a nun)I know very little about James and George other than the whole family (McDermott) came from Spring Valley, IL and the boys were coal miners, the girls followed "A" as my mother called her (Eileen) into the city(Chicago) to become seamstresses.Where she met my grandfather, Milton at an Irish social.Milton and "Scanny" worked for the Illinois Central R.R. Milton came from Rome, NY he is of Welch background had a mother that died young and had a stepmother (I forget her name, although I know I have a picture of her) Are you related? to whom? My Uncle Bill is still around and can give more information on Scanlons.
