Grace Elizabeth (Carrothers) Boughton -
Peacefully on Saturday May 23, 2009, Grace Elizabeth Boughton passed away at Roblin District Health Centre.
Grace Elizabeth Carrothers was born September 18, 1930 a few minutes before her twin brother Louis on the Carrothers farm, now the home of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum at Austin, MB.
Grace will be sadly missed by her children; Gloria (Gilbert) Mohr of Kelowna, B.C, Beverley (Max) Polon of Durban, MB, Elaine (Charles) Schrader of MacNutt, SK, Glenn (Veronica) Boughton of Kamloops, B.C, April (Rick) Garska of St. Paul, AB, Greg (Lisa) Boughton of Roblin, MB, 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
Also surviving are 2 Brothers; Cliff (Gladys) Carrothers of Winnipeg, MB, Clarence (Marie) Carrothers of LeDuc, AB, 1 Sister Vera Hay of Winnipeg, MB as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace was predeceased in death by her husband Harold Boughton in 1988; Parents, Thomas and Etta May (nee Giles) Carrothers; Brothers, Eldon, Louis, Leslie, Donald, and Stanley "Dick" Carrothers; Sisters, Isabel Enta and Violet Wright.
Grace enjoyed spending time with her family and Shadow, her cat. Her greatest passion in her life was tending her flower beds and garden. Grace took great pride in having 250 different types of lilies. She loved to show off her lovely blooms and cared for her flowers and garden with love. Grace was the recipient of numerous awards from the Roblin Horticultural Society in past years.
Grace’s Funeral Service was held Wednesday May 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM from Knox United Church, Roblin, MB, with Reverend David Maxwell officiating. A private family Interment was held later in the day.
