Joseph Carruba and Pasquelena Montana
I too am descended from Joseph Carruba and Pasquelena Montana, my great-grandparents.Here's my line:
Joseph and Pasquelena had my grandmother, Mary Louise (Carruba) Crate who married Joseph Curtis Crate after her first husband who drowned I believe (my mother has his name but I don't have it written down). I also have the names of Mary's siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.Whom are descended through?Mary and Joseph had a total of 13 children, the last two of which died as children and infancy. My mother, Shirley (Crate) Himes married my father Gerald Himes and they had me.My mom is the youngest (#11) of the surviving children.
First, if you can scan Joseph and Pasquelena's wedding picture, I'd sure love to have a copy.My mom has a picture of Pasquelena and her second husband at their wedding anniversary (I think it was their 30th or 40th, not sure). Next, I only have names for Pasquelena's parents (Anthony Montana and Rose Marie Cologna) who were both born in Italy and two brothers (Joseph and Angelo).I have Pasquelena's birth (22 December 1898 in Dunmore) and death (16 August 1970 in Lewisburg, PA) and that she is buried in Phipps Cemetery in Elmo (no idea where that is yet).Any information on her and back would be greatly appreciated.
Finally, I only have that Joseph Carruba was born in Italy and died before 1938.I do not know anymore than that.If you have any information on him and his ancestors I'd greatly appreciate it as well.I'm stationed in Germany (in the U.S. Army) and would like to know what part of Italy the Carruba's, Montana's, and Cologna's are from. Some long weekend, I may be able to wander down there and do some research (take some pictures too).
Any info and pictures, even more downline would be great.Thanks.My email is [email protected]
