Re: John Carter and Hannah Chew; and Bailey Carter
I am emailing you two documents that will explain some of this.
This first document i will email you is Elby Bowman's document with my analysis, where Elby argues the identity of the Joseph of 1751.
I had agreed with Elby's arguments, BUT with the letters of Mary Davis daughter that is quoted in Miller's book, I had to come down on the side of Dr. Miller.
However, those letters are nowhere to be found AND DNA testing shows Elby may be right.
John Carter of William Carter's line - see my document on DNA testing. His son had a will that showed - I think - that he had a son, although not listed in church records.
Next, George Carter, Williams son, is right beside Joseph in Spotsylvania.Their land is side by side, their dealings in court are side by side, their relations and friends are side by side.See my Carter DNA document.
On Joseph Carter (1751) son George - he went to Buckingham Co - conclusively - due to his 1766 deed George Carter of Buckingham County to Brother John, dad's land on Robinson's swamp.See Carter DNA file.
My Carter DNA treatise is not finished, but I am sharing with you becuase I want to collaberate with you, I can tell you are knowledgeable and i want your feedback.
On John Carter/Sarah Kenyon.I have not done original research on this, took Miller's word.I drew out a chart which showed John and Hannah had daughter Elizabeth (per 1783 will), and she had Sarah Kenyon Thomas, and "per John's will son John to care for her."
That's all I know. These darn William Carter kids are hard enough to sort - haven't gotten to Thomas Carter Barford family descendants.
Files are on their way.
