George SEAMANS, son of William SEAMANS and his first wife, was born in Roxham Province of Quebec, Canada and later moved to Perrys Mills, New York U.S.A.He became a naturalized United States citizen.He was a successful farmer.
James CARTO
James CARTO was of French decent.He married Salome HENRY who was also of French decent.
Salome (HENRY) CARTO was Catholic at first but later became a loyal Protestant and joined the Methodist Church of Perry Mills.Two of her grandchildren, Clara CARTO and Cornelia CARTO (Mrs. Upton) were left orphans.Salome brought them up.
Mary Matilda CARTO Born in 1843
Mary Matilda CARTO, daughter of James and Salome CARTO married George Seamans.She was a faithful Christian.
Frederick Charles SEAMANS
Frederick Charles SEAMANS, son of George SEAMANS and Mary Matilda (CARTO) SEAMANS, was born in Perrys Mills April 12, 1873.He attended the Perrys Mills School, then the Champlain High School.In his youth he worked on his father's farm.At the age of eighteen, he was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church in Perrys Mills.After coming to Plattsburgh, he joined the Salvation Army.He has been very active in church and the Salvation Army.On June 29, 1901, he married Carolotta Lavinia Parnes.Because he could not earn enough in Perrys Mills, he started to work in other pa(..?)He was a builder and a contractor and has built a good many houses.Fred has been a very hard worker and a good provider for his family.He has had no bad habits such as smoking or drinking.He with the help of the Valcour people, built a church and donated his time.During quite a (?) time, he held meetings in this little church. (?...) he and the people turned the church over to the Salvation Army.In appearance, Fred is 5 ft 6 in tall.
