Some notes on the Carwile CSA soldiers:The C.G. Carwile who served with Co.K, 24th AL and the Crawford Green Carwile who served with 44th Mississippi are the same person. He originally enlisted with the Autauga Guards which became part of the 24th AL and then the 24th AL became a part of Blythe's Battalion and the 44th Mississippi. The same is true for D.L. Carwile; he is listed as serving with both the 24th Al and the 44th Mississippi. Also Francis M. Carwile of the 24th AL is the same person as Frank M. Carwile of the 44th Mississippi.D.L. was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga, Francis M. was taken prisoner at Nashville in 1864 and was sent to Camp Douglas, IL and released in a prisoner exchange in New Orleans in May 1865. Francis and Crawford were brothers; Dixon Lewis was their first cousin.
