ditto everything I said before but let me add some more.
My grandmother's grandmother WAS Amalia Casanova. She would have been born in the 1850's-1860's and most likely in Chios, Greece (as the area had Casanova's there prior to her...)Amalia had a sister Kalliope Casanova who married Georgios Misiriotis. Kalliope's granddaughter (also Kalliope) is still alive and a young 56! Apparently her grandma was much younger than her sister Amalia and also apparently had kids much later in life.Forget what I said about Spanish, Sephardic Jew, I ws told the name is Genoan and that there were many Genoans in Chios during the middle ages (as well as Venetians, etc..)
cool stuff, am i related to anyone?
if anyone wants to see the descendants of either Amalia or Kalliope, let me know,
thanks,
deb
