Roxy Cass (b. 30Dec1801 Decatur, Otsego Co. NY - d. 23Nov1853 Candor, Tioga Co. NY) m.Danby NY ca. 1819 Michael Parks Dikeman, son of Eli and Zilpha (b. 12July1796 Danbury CT - d. Spencer, Tioga Co. NY ca. 1878).Both are bur. in the private Cass Hill family cemetery in Candor, NY. Their 10 children are named in the Dykeman geneology.
In the 1855 NYS Census her dau. Betsy Dikeman was listed as a housekeeper for Betsy's widowed uncle Caleb Cass, son of Iddo and Anna Thurber Cass.Iddo Cass (b. 11 July 1766 Richmond NH - d. 1830 Candor, NY), in his will dated 24June1830, probated 26July1830, inv. 8Nov1830, mentions his wife Anna and only 4 of his children: Caleb, Martin, Candace Stephens, and Rachel Mott, although he is known from other sources to have had as many as 10 surviving children.Iddo 6 Cass was desc. : Joseph 5, Dea. John 4, John 3, Samuel 2, John 1.Anna Thurber Cass may be an undocumented sister of Sarah Thurber Cass, who was married to Iddo's third cousin Elkanah Cass. They all came down from Richmond NH to Otsego Co. NY at about the same time (ca. 1798).
