ISO pre-1800 Origins Mary Cassiday & Samuel Hanna, Floyd Co, KY
The National Society of the Daughters of the Revolution DAR Patriot Index Centennial Edition Part II G-O (Washington: NSDAR, 1994), p. 1301 lists as a DAR Patriot "Hanna, Samuel: b. 1756 Pennsylvania d 1839 AR m Mary Cassidy Pvt Pennsylvania."His wife's name and his Arkansas death give strong credence to the belief that this Samuel Hanna is the same Samuel Hanna that Hanna family historians show marrying a Mary Cassiday (also Cassidy, Cassity, other variations) in Bourbon Co, Kentucky in 1796.
Bourbon Co tax lists show either a Daniel or a David Caseday, Casaday, or Cassidy being taxed in 1793, 95, 96, and 97.
Question: Does anyone have information about the Mary's pre-1800 existence? Any connection to the male taxpayers present in Bourbon Co before, in, and after her marriage year to Samuel Hanna?
