Re: family Members Mexico 1930 -1940
The 2 names you mentioned don't ring a bell. The family reunions I mentioned of before is your source for more information.
I'm guessing about 6 to 7 generations ago was the start of a very large family of Castillejas.A couple had a dozen or so children, primarily sons. And so forth, numerous grandchildren.
At these annual reunions (held mainly in Texas) come the hundreds and hundreds of descendants from the first line of children that can be traced back. They bring their family trees, pictures and stories. Everyone is grouped into a family by wearing certain colors. There is a color given to each member of the first line of children.Personally, I'm from the light blue family which signifies that my forefather was Mariano Castilleja.
I strongly recommend that you plan to attend the 18th Annual Castilleja Reunion in '02.I am more than positive there are people who attend the reunions that are more closely related to you and your cousins than I am. My family has been in the U.S. since the turn of the century and my ties to Mexico are generations ago so I won't be as much a help with your search for family members from Mexico in the 30's & 40's.
I didn't go to the reunion this year, but have been to about four and they are rather fun and educational at the same time.Write back if you wish.
