Cato family questions (i dont know much) . Clarence Lesley Cato
Was just all of a sudden interested in studying the genealogy of my family and "googled" "Cato family". And here i find this.....
My great grandmother was Winifred Violet Hanes, she married Clarence Lesley Cato but everyone called him "Joe". My great-grandma passed away last year at a ripe old age of 99, and would have turned 100 the feb just passed. She was rather keen on turning 100 to get the letter from the queen who was her "old neighbour" back in her home land of England where she and her husband raised my grandfather (Malcom) and his sister (Beryl). I never met Joe, he died of lung cancer when my dad was young but he was a grenadier guard for the King.
Anyway...I kind of babbled. my great-grandma also moved to America (Texas I believe...maybe born there) during the war but then moved back to england afterwards. My grandfather went off by himself on a journey to New Zealand in his 20's and fell in love with my grandma and here the Malcom Cato clan resides...they had 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls...all are married with children of their own.
I am the 2nd Cato grandchild of Malcom's and have recently (3 weeks ago) got married and changed my name so maybe that is why there was a surge of feelings to research??
hope you get this.
Maybe we are family??
