Sarah Cato b.1839
I am not sure if anyone will be able to help me - but any information I get will be greatly appreciated.I was researching my family tree and it seems as though I am at a road block....from all the information I have been able to find, a John C. Bodiford was my 3rd great grandfather. But not from a child with Martha Coons - My 3rd great grandmother's name was Sarah Cato. I have found some things saying they were married and then other's saying they were never married. They had 2 sons - John Brekenridge Cato b.1965 and Enoch Cato b.1870.The only "family story" we have ever heard was that my grandmother's great grandfather was a "medicine doctor" and married a Creek Indian woman.Have you ever heard this story???I can not find ANY information on Sarah Cato's family before her.She first appears on the 1850 census for Coffee County in the same house with Thomas Morris (26) - and his wife and 4 young children AND a Keziah Kelley (45) Sarah Cato (11).Then again as Sarah Kato in the 1880 census (40) as a single white laborer.
