It seems likely that there is some relationship between the two Noahs, but so far no one I know has found it. I have several Noahs, but all descended from the Noah who married Frances/Fannie McDermid, and born much later than your Noah Simon. I know only 4 of the children in Frances/Fannie's family - Frances, Charlotte, Celia, and Cordelia. Frances was born in 1798, and so your Elizabeth could be a sibling, but could also be a niece. Frances and sisters are children of Hugh McDermid, living in Vernon Co near Noah L Caton, whom Frances married.

You might try looking in Rowan Co, NC if you think there's a connection as Jesse, Noah L's father, was married there and several of his children and siblings stayed there when he and others moved to Kentucky and then Missouri.
