Clemente,
Do you go by Clemente, Deleon, Clemente Deleon, or something else.I go by Bill.
If I ever find time, I'll try to search my family information and see if there is any information on a Hunter Catts.I doubt that I will find anything, but I'm certainly willing to look. The culture being what it was in the 1860's, Hunter probably wasn't included in Samuel Walker Catts' family records.
I am not a decendent of Samuel Walker Catts, athough we are related. His grandfather and my great-great-great grandfather was Michael Catts. The Catts family originally settled in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The Catts families in the US decend from two branches of the family.John Catts left England in 1635 and came to Virginia.A Michael Catts came to the US from Holland and settled in Maryland in the 1700's.That branch appears to have also left England in the 1630's, but went to Holland instead of coming direct to America. The two families appear to be related. In the 1830's, the family split into three groups. Some stayed in the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware area, Samuel went to Alabama, and my Great-grandfather George Neal Catts came to Missouri. The Alabama branch did settle at Pleasant Hill.
If I can find any information that might relate to Hunter I'll try to share it with you.If you have any questions about the Catts family in general, I'll try to answer them for you as well.I probably won't be much help, though, since what I have probably relates mostly to the white members of the family.I haven't looked at the material in years, so I don't know what may be there that I hadn't noticed before.I'm willing to help if I can, though. You may contact me at [email protected] I have your e-mail, I can contact you directly.
I wish you well.
Bill
