Hi Vicki,
Glad you got my message. I have yet to confirm if the person I'm researching is indeed the same person I've discovered, but I have a hunch it is.
I am researching my wife's g-grandmother, Virginia Tessier, daughter of Theophile Tessier. Virginia was born in Blind River, Ontario. I have come across census information which shows Theophile's spouse to be Adelaide Carlin/Caslin/Causelet/Causley/Causlay (depending on which information you look at !) .
I was provided a copy of some 1871 census information from the Algoma district showing Adelide Causlay associated with Soloman Causlay. It would almost seem that he would be her grandfather based on the age? Perhaps he had a son named Soloman too, who may be your guy ?
I would appreciate any information you may have available to share and perhaps together we can sort this out. I live in BC so it's a bit difficult to get this information here. I can provide you details on the Tessier side if you are interested.
By the way, I have also had contact with your cousin, Nicky via Genforum
