Moses Cavet of Hendricks County, Indiana
I am looking for info about Moses Cavet who was in the Hendricks County, Indiana census in 1830.At that time, he was between 70 and 79 years old, putting his birth year at approximately 1755.He probably died between the 1830 census and the 1840 census.
Moses had a son Moses (b. 1800 TN - d. 11 Mar 1884 Hendricks Co, IN) who married Rhoda Turner in Wayne County, Kentucky on 22 Feb 1821.His daughter was Anna (b. 1807 TN - d. betw 1870 and 1880 probably in Hendricks Co, IN) who married Rhoda's brother, James Turner, in Hendricks Co, IN on 6 Sep 1831.
Hendricks County historical information lists Moses as having immigrated to the area from Kentucky in the late 1820s.It appears that he (and family) were in Wayne County, KY prior to this and lived in Tennessee before that.
I've read about Moses Cavet, the immigrant from Scotland whose namesake descendents were involved with the Battle at King's Mountain, inherited the land at Cavett Station, migrated to Texas, etc., but none fit with the Moses I'm looking for.Possibly "Moses" was actually a middle name or maybe he is completely unrelated to the immigrant Moses Cavet. If this rings any bells, please let me know!
