I posted a message similar to this a few years back, but my email address has changed, so I am reposting. I have made no progress in solving this problem. William Neville married Mattie Cawthon on December 7, 1888 in Marshall County, Mississippi. Her name on the 1880 US Census was Mattie Lou Cawthon. She was the daughter of Robert H. and Nancy M. Blythe Cawthon. The marriage was indexed for her as Mattie Carathon. At the time I believed he was William Norwood Neville, who was a widower after the death of his wife Mary Jane Phillips on January 25, 1884. He died on November 27, 1889 and both of them were buried in the Neville Cemetery in Marshall County, Mississippi. (I have tried twice to locate this cemetery, but could not and fear it is overgrown and/or lost. The general area where it supposed to be is very dense forest and you are in the elements). Now I am not so sure William Neville and William Norwood Neville were one and the same person. I have come to learn there were several William Nevilles and more than one William Norwood Neville. But he could be the same man. I just don't know. Bottom line is I cannot locate Mattie Lou Cawthon Neville after the 1880 US Census where she was still with her parents, and I only have the marriage license as a reference beyond that. She was not mentioned as a survivor in the obituary of one of her sisters who died in 1937. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has comments and/or information about her that they are willing to share. Thank you.
