Re: Cefali's out there?
My grandfather Antonio Cefali was born around 1896 and came to the northeast part of America around 1917.I know that he had one sister who came to the states as well. I believe that his mother's maiden name was Gironda, but other than that I have very little information.I have researched the name Cefali. It is common in Italy but not common in this area of the US.There are Cefali's in New Jersey, Michigan and California.Cefali is a small port in Sicily located in a section called Cefalu. My family always thought they were Calabrian, but now we are wondering if we have Sicilian roots. Hope some of this helps. I am looking for a good website in Calabria that perhaps had records of births/deaths. I will let you know if I find a good one.
