I realize this post is almost 15 yrs. old, but I'd like to offer a few comments.
I've known that I've had a CHAMBERLAIN ancestor for 15-20 yrs., but I never spent a lot of time learning about him.My ancestors were Joseph KIDDER and Rebecca CHAMBERLAIN who married in Chelmsford in 1727.(Saying this from memory.)The "KIDDER book" has a mistake and shows her as Mrs. Rebecca (WILDER) CHAMBERLAIN, but that is wrong. That was her mother's name,Mrs. Rebecca (WILDER) (WHITCOMB) CHAMBERLAIN.
The mother, Rebecca, had her 3rd marriage to Samuel CHAMBERLAIN of Chelmsford, and they had a few children, with one being Rebecca.(Samuel also had several marriages.)
I'm also looking at the several CHAMBERLAIN brothers who arrived in 1630's (?), and there is a lot of information on the William, who settled in Billerica and had more than a dozen children. But, I'm not finding much on-line about the Thomas, b~1615 ENG, who settled in Chelmsford.
One note is that a book I have says that it was a Mrs. Mary PARKER who Thomas married in Chelmsford in 1674.It was probably his 3rd marriage, and it was her 4th marriage.
And, so far on-line, I'm only seeing one or 2 children for this Thomas, one being son, Samuel CHAMBERLAIN, b~1645.
And, I'm told that Samuel had a son, Samuel, b~1685, who was the one who married the Mrs. Rebecca (WILDER) WHITCOMB above.
I just checked the catalog of my local library, and I'm only finding a book mentioned which discusses the William of Billerica. Is there no book about Thomas of Chelmsford?
