Re: NEW DATA: WM.(the Emigrant) I and Wm.II
Welcome to our obsession!!Now that you're firmly hooked, we will hear more from you.
Evidently, you are descended from one of the many Chance lines in England, from the "stay-at-home" ancestors.... you can go back to J. F. Chance's book, CHANCE OF BROMSGROVE, published in 1892.Reprint copies are still available stateside thru Tuttle Antiquarian Books, www.tuttlebooks.com in Rutland, Vt.
J. F. has all the family lines in England, along with charts, which, I think, will help get you on the right path.We have two descendants with whom I've been in touch in the past, but have lost their current e-mail addresses... they are Sir Jeremy Chance and Sebastian Chance, both still living in the UK... Sir Jeremy in Wales, the last I heard. He has a son, Tom.... last website address I had for him is no longer working: "http://www.tomchance.org.uk/family".
Another helpful website might be "englishorigins.com"... let me know if anyone has updated addresses for our English cousins.
