Charlesons of Quebec..Update
Donald McKay Charleson and his wife, Margaret Phillips came to Quebec, settling in the Eastern township known then as Leeds where Donald had land. Leeds is now known as Megantic.Donald and Margaret had a daughter there, Charlotte Rebecca, born October 13,1833. She was baptized in the Church of England in Leeds July 28, 1834. Parents are listed as Donald Charleson,Occupation: shoemaker, and Margaret Phillips.
This is the same couple who we now know were parents to Donald Brims Charleson, b. Quebec and Samuel Richard Charleson b. Quebec and James Charleson b. Stirling in 1829 and William George Charleson b. Stirling in 1827, the latter two being recorded in records of the 75th Highland regiment.
Margeret is possibly of the Phillips/Philp family of Stirlingshire..and may be daughter of a William Phillips...
