Re: Charmans Sussex to Australia
My wife's great grandfather, Frederick GOLDRING, married Sarah CHARMAN in St Nicholas Church at Brighton in Sussex in 1831. Sarah was a child of Henry CHARMAN and Jane. Frederick and Sarah arrived at Port Adelaide in 1838.
After Sarah died in 1865 Frederick married Hannah JOINER. It turns out that Hannah's mother was Harriet CHARMAN, who married Edmund JOINER in the same church at Brighton in Sussex only six days later than Frederick and Hannah. I feel surethat Hannah and Sarah must be related in some way, but have not yet found the connection. I would be interested to know whether you have found any earlier records that may show a connection?
