thomas charter born 1878 liverpool - family connections

Hi I am reseaching the story of my great grandad. He was born in West Derby area. I believe he was the son of Henry and Catherine Charters (known as Cathne) and had siblings including Catherine, Henry, Charles, Isobel (who died as an infant). Thomas was adopted from industrial school by a yorkshireman at best in the late 1800's. He lived and married in West Yorkshire and worked in the coal mines for the rest if his life.

I am tring to find that all important link at how he moved from Liverpool to Yorkshire. It looks as though Catherine the mother died and thomas was put into industial school as he was only young at the time. Catherine was of marrying age. If there are any distant relative who coul dhave information it would be gratefully received.
