FRANK E. CHEMBERLIN was born in Garden Grove, Iowa, Oct. 9, l873, and passed away August 23, l925, on board the train just as it pulled into Chicago. He was enroute to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to attend a meeting of the chief clerks. From there he was going to Ohio on business and to visit a cousin.
MR. CHEMBERLIN received his education in Garden Grove in which place he was married to EVA E. THOMPSON, June 20, l895.
He has been in the railroad employ since he was nineteen years of age, holding positions with the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, and the Keokuk & Western, before going to Des Moines in l900 to take a position with the Des Moines Union Railway. At the time of his death, he was chief clerk to the master mechanic.
MR. CHEMBERLIN united with the Presbyterian Church in Garden Grove when a young boy. After going to Des Moines, he had been a member of the First Presbyterian and Highland Park Presbyterian Churches. For the last ten years he had been a member of the Federated Church on Beaver Avenue.
He is survived by his widow, a daughter, MARGARET, a son, DONALD, and two grandsons, NEAL and LARRY CHEMBERLIN.
He was a loving and affectionate husband, father and grandfather, always planning comforts for his family.
