Hello Geoff,
What a conundrum the Chisholm family is turning out to be.I've been having another trawl and, like you, have not found anything new, except a death index record for William Chisholm for December 1857 Vol. 6a, page 39.Might be worth sending for? It's also conceivable that William wasn't born in Gloucestershire. There are an awful lot of Scottish Chisholms and as he was a mariner, Bristol may well have been one of the ports he regularly visited. As for Henry and Emma, has it occurred to you that they may not have been married? My Lovering great grandfather appears not to have been married to my great grandmother.
It was lovely to have been contacted by Marie and as a result I have been in touch with two younger cousins, one Marie's mum, Shirley and her sister Jean (nee Young and daughters of Jack Young)
If you ever feel inclined you would be very welcome to visit me here.
Best Wishes - Sheila
