Alphonsine Chouinard b.1860/John Antoine Dean b.1855

Does anyone have any information about my GREAT grandparents' families?

Alphonsine Chouinard (or spelling Chainard) born in Quebec area,1860.
married to John Antoine Dean (born in the US in 1855)

I just started researching and am a bit stuck. My great grandmother is listed in the 1881 Canada census as living in St. Agathe, Salaberry,Manitoba with my great great grandfather, John Antoine Dean and two sons, Elmire(4) and Joseph (1) my paternal grandfather.Alphonsine is listed as 22 years of age in 1881.

I did some research for more detailed "Alphonsine Chouinard" birth records in the Quebec area during the 19th century. There were SEVERAL "Alphonsine Chouinards" listed for the 19th century, but I only found one record in the Quebec area that would fit her age (22) in 1881. However, the surname on that record is spelled only (no first name) "....Chouinard (spelled "Chainard"on the record,) female, age 11, living in St-Aubert, L'Islet 164 Quebec.

My great grandfather John Antoine Dean is listed on the 1881 census as "French, Roman Catholic, born in the US in 1855.

I cannot locate birth records for John Antoine Dean in the US.
I cannot findbirth records for Alphonsine Chouinard that lists her parents names.
I cannot locate marriage or death records for either.

I saw some information on this forum that indicated there were Chouinards already living in St. Rose-du-Lac Mantiboba around the time my great grandparents lived in St. Agathe. One of these Chouinard males was married to a "Celena Dean", so perhaps there was already a connection between the Dean and Chouinard families.

If anyone has information on this please contact me.
