Pascal Chouinard, NY & Canada, b. 1823

I am looking for any information on Pascal Chouinard, who was born in Montreal Canada in 1823, lived many years in Stephentown, NY where he died in 1914. He was married to Sarah Parthenia Carr, daughter of Joshua Carr and Sarah (Sally) Whitman.Pascal's death certificate reads that his father's name was Paschal Chouinard from Montreal, Canada, but no further information.
The Chouinard name evidently took on several variations, including Shonnard (taken by one of Pascal's sons) and eventually became SWEENER, which is what my mother's family name was.Any help with locating information on Paschal Chouinard would be greatly appreciated.
