Re: JOHN CHRISTINE, PHILADELPHIA, CA 1800-1850
Thanks for responding to my query.
I think that there were two John Christines living in Philly at about the same time:
1.John Christine Ca 1792 -1830. He had a tavern on 3rd Street in Northern Liberties, and when he passed away, the Philly Directory shows his wife running the Tavern.
2.John T. Christine, my GG-Grandfather, who we know from Census Records was born around 1801 and died after 1850. One of his sons was Samuel S.K. Christine who married Mary Bradbury and had Robert B. Christine #1, my Grandfather and my namesake.
It seems almost incredible that there were only a few Christines in Philly at the same time and 2 of them were named John.
I have been told that 3 Christeins came to Philly on the Phoenix in 1750. (Later they changed their names to Christine)I can't get the connection between them and John T.
Again, thanks for your interest.
