Do you know if this Benjamin Hawkins was born in South Carolina?Did Elizabeth die before 1845?Were one of their children named John and did Benjamin go to Illinois?My ggg-grandfather, Benjamin Hawkins b. 1793 in S.C. had married someone in Kentucky and had 3? children, John, Eliza, and Rachel.I figured his wife died or they divorced and he moved to Illinois. Then he married my ggg-grandmother Elizabeth Patterson in 1847.If this is the same family could you let me know?
