My great-great-great grandfather was John Clanton. This may or may not be the same one you are searching for.I do have these dates about our John, who was, according to our family, "part Cherokee."
He married Nancy Bullard, (b.mcminn co. Tenn, 1814) in 1829. Our John was killed in government service around 1840 to 1845 while trying to quell indian uprisings, which leads us to believe that he was an army scout, perhaps?
I do know that his widow, Nancy, filed with the U.S. gov't for a land grant as per in the Indian Act of 1855, and was granted land in Missouri. Our family has been granted indian cards through his lineage, but it is with the northern tribes. The names of the children you listed are unfamiliar.
