I purchased the subject undated studio portrait of a middle-aged man taken by Smiths, Lockport, NY.It is identified on the back of the mount:

"Myron Clappsattle"

I found this individual listed in the 1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 Census data for Lockport (resided at 243 Genesee Street), Niagara Co., NY.Born Jul 1845 in NY, he was a clothier by profession.He was first married to Mary M. (maiden name unknown), born about 1845 in NY, by whom he had at least one child, John S., born May 1870 in NY.In about 1887, he married Maria D. (maiden name unknown), born Jan 1865 in NY, and she bore him a son and daughter--Mark D., born Jan 1891 in NY; and F. Marie, born Feb 1898 in NY.
