Genealogist's Summary
I started my genealogy research at the Greenville Couny (SC) Library. The first thing that I found was a book compiled in the early 90's by Samuel Alexander Cothran. He is a descendant of the 1758 James through son Michael, then James Monroe, then James Aaron. Apparently, Mrs. Lori Gardner, a genealogist in Bountiful Utah had been retained to research the Clardy name. Mr. Cothran included her summary in his book. I have transcribed her summary and present it here unedited:

There's something in her summary for most Clardy researchers. Be sure to vote in my dumb little pronunciation poll. Currently it's 60% pronouncing Clardy as "Clardy" and 40% and "Clardy"
