Re: John Clere (Clare) b.1580 in MA

In search of my Clere ancestry lead me as far as 1800 Virginia, when and where my great-great grandfather Ezekiel C. Clere was born. I know not his parents or siblings nor where they came from. I have been told that Ezekiel immigrated from Ireland but am inclined to believe the heretiage began in England or France. If you have ever come across the name coupled with parents I would be very appreciative of that information. Ezekiel, incidently married Nancy Ellen Carney in Ohio in 1824, moved to Greenup Co., KY in 1849. It is presumed he died there abt 1852.
