Bertie and Daisy Clark (Between 1891 and 1901 in Vancouver, BC, Canada)
Hello!
My name is Brett Clark and am looking for any possibility that our family may have extended relatives (living or not) back in England or anywhere in the world for that matter. We
also suspect that we may have relatives in the U.S. as two of the children, Guy and Harry, left Saskatchewan (Canada) for California (U.S.) sometime between 1891 and 1901 and apparently were never heard of again. Siblings Bertie and Daisy moved to Vancouver during the same time frame. This, of course is a real mystery as well!
My great grandfather was William Cope Clark. He was married to Sarah Marie Farmer. They lived in Ipswich, Suffolk County, England and he was employed as a restaurant manager. They attended the Anglican St. Mary at Stoke Church in Ipswich, all of their seven children were baptized there. The family immigrated to Canada in August of 1884, sailing from Liverpool on the SS Circassian, bound for Quebec City. They ended up homesteading just west of Moosomin, Northwest Territories (now the province of Saskatchewan)
Here are the names and ages of the family at the time they immigrated from England to here in Canada...
William Cope Clark - age 40
Sarah Marie Farmer - age 35
William Guy Clark - age 15
Harry Clark - age 14
Albert Clark - age 11
George Farmer Clark - age 9
Daisy Clark - age 8
Fred Clark - age 3
Thomas Clark - infant
My family here in Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Clark homestead. My uncle Keith Clark, after long research, was able to come up with some more detailed information. I have posted many photos of the event on my Facebook site along with photos of historical family documents and photos as well. So far I have posted two albums, with the rest shortly. If anybody out there has information I would LOVE to hear from you!
